This mechanical and ballistic breachers course covers the basics of entry equipment and techniques to gain access into buildings or structures.
This course is a hands on course and requires officers to demonstrate correct and safe handling of multiple tools and show that they can successfully master the technique of over coming the obstacles given to them during the class.

Personal safety equipment
Discussing various types of structural materials – wood, glass, metal
Method of entry
Demonstrating various techniques with practical exercises
Day 2: Powered tools
Different type of mechanical breaching equipment – battery versus gas
Makes and models – quickie saw, chainsaws, compact cutters
Methods of carry

Day 3: Ballistic (Shotgun)
Shotguns – Semi vs. pump, barrel lengths, stand off devices, pro’s and cons of makes and models

Safety and personal protective equipment
Attacking doors – hinge vs locks
Different breaching techniques – angles and shooting fundamental
Tactical planning and execution
